Follow-Up to Bourse Jackie Leadership & Empowerment Program (PLAF)

Our Founder, Barry Hoffner, traveled to Mali to both inaugurate our 17th school construction and support program in the village of Bokyatte near Timbuktu, and also met with the Bourse Jackie scholarship recipients in Bamako.

While in Bamako, he was able to take part in one of the monthly sessions of the Bourse Jackie Leadership & Empowerment Program (PLAF Mali). This particular PLAF session was devoted to female entrepreneurship in Mali and featured a panel of four young, successful female Malian entrepreneurs.

As Barry said, “having a successful career and life after university includes more than just gaining an education, but building up confidence, life experiences, and learning non-academic skills.

We designed and implemented the PLAF this past year, 2022, in order to provide additional career skills to our scholarship recipients as part of our effort to deepen the impact of the Bourse Jackie scholarship.”
