Sponsor Programs

After the challenge of malnutrition, there is no more worthwhile cause than educating a child, and Caravan to Class is grateful for your support. Donations to our programs are a great way to give a gift with meaning to your child, a friend, a teacher, or someone you want to honor.

Caravan to Class is a registered 501(c)3 so your donation is tax deductible. In addition, through pictures and updates, you will make a direct connection to a village of deserving children and their families. Whether your interest is sponsoring a child, a teacher, or a specific project, you will have the contentment of knowing that you have made a material impact in someone’s life. You can honor a loved one, a teacher or a child with your gift.

Sponsor-a-Student

Your support will keep a child in school and bring him/her the hope that comes with education and being able to read. For $120 per year or $10 per month, your investment will provide a student's books and supplies, food (breakfast and lunch), a school uniform (to maximize pride at being in school), and provide a small contribution to the school’s operating budget.

You’ll receive a picture of the child you sponsor, a personal thank you from him/her, and an update on his/her progress and the progress of the school in general.

Sponsor-a-Teacher

Your support will enable a teacher to continue doing what he/she loves best: educate children in the villages near Timbuktu. Caravan to Class hires only certified teachers. Often these teachers come from Timbuktu, live in the village during the week, sleep on the floor of a mud hut, do their lesson plans at night by flashlight and make the long trek home on weekends to be with their families.

You’ll receive a picture of the teacher you sponsored, a personal thank you, and a progress report about the teacher’s class and the school. Our Sponsor-a-Teacher program is a great way to give a gift of meaning to a teacher you want to honor or someone who has helped raise and educate children.

Sponsor-a-Need

To achieve our objective of getting every child in the villages in which we operate, to school, we need to be aware of the challenges faced daily by the people. Getting a child into school might mean providing breakfast and lunch, having toilet facilities or a water well. Caravan to Class is flexible and strives to remove barriers so that every child has the opportunity to go to school.

By supporting our Sponsor-a-Need program, you are providing much-needed infrastructure that supports a village’s education. At the same time, Caravan to Class would like to help you put your own personal stamp on investing in literacy in a specific village with a project of personal interest to you.
